Saachi Mehta is a designer and illustrator based in Mumbai, India. Her area of work lies at an intersection of conceptual design and cultural imagery. With an inclination towards research driven work, she explores the relevance of traditional knowledge and cultural identity in the contemporary world.
She holds a Masters Degree in Illustration & Visual Media from London College of Communication, UAL and holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce and Economics from H. R. College with a Diploma in Visual and Communication Arts from Raheja School of Arts.
Coca Cola, ColoursTV, Ladybird Books, London College of Communication, NASA, Nike, Victoria & Albert Museum and Unicef are some of the brands she has worked with.
She has taught Visual Communication and Branding at NMIMS School of Design and is currently teaching Design Thinking at Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering.
She is a winner of many accolades and has exhibited her work on in Mumbai, London and Venice.

Overview
Gepach, a healthcare brand launched a new range of effervescent products in the prescriptive as well as over-the-counter (OTC) segment. The products offer multi-sensory psychological, scientific as well as functional benefits to the consumers. The products' efficacy is not only comparable to conventional medicine but is also superior in terms of taste, speed and ease of use.
Creation
The pack was designed to communicate the story behind the product and its impact, with the customer. A direct, simple yet playful visual system was developed using the idea of effervescence. The design illustrates the problem each specific product solves and the results it promises along with indicating the product to be prescribed as well as over-the-counter.
Research
We compared conventional medication to Gepach's new effervescent product line. Effervescent products offer a multi-sensory experience: consumers see fizzing, hear bubbling, and enjoy pleasant taste. Stimulating more senses delights consumers. Effervescent products also work faster and more effectively on targeted issues, while avoiding dehydration associated with conventional medication.


We developed a communicative visual system to narrate the story behind the effervescent range, including:
• Targeted health issues for each medication
• The effervescent nature of the medication
• Promised delight and results
Ideation

Visual System
Each pack in the effervescent range features a unique tablet mnemonic and colour scheme corresponding to the targeted health issue for quick and easy identification.

Pack Design System
The effervescent range packs are designed for prescriptive and over-the-counter use. So it was crucial to ensure clear and effective communication on the packs for easy consumer understanding, while also maintaining a playful appeal for pharmacy shelves.
